On Tuesday morning, December 19, 2023, Samdech MohaBorvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia allowed Mr. Ichiro KASHITANI, Member of Board of Directors, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Tsusho Corporation to pay a courtesy call during the 50th ASEAN-Japan Anniversary Summit from 15-19 December 2023 in Tokyo, Japan.
During the meeting, Mr. Ichiro KASHITANI Toyota asked for permission to invite Samdech Prime Minister to preside over the inauguration ceremony of the upcoming Toyota assembly plant. Moreover, Mr. Ichiro KASHITANI Toyota also thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for full support for running business smoothly and encouraged investors to be more confident in expanding their investments in Cambodia.
In response, Samdech Prime Minister welcomed the meeting with Mr. Ichiro KASHITANI and his colleagues and expressed his pleasure at the development of the company until deciding to build a Toyota assembly plant in Cambodia. Apart from this, accepting the invitation to preside over the inauguration ceremony of the Toyota Assembly Plant in 2024, SamdechPrime Minister also encouraged the company to consider to establishing an exchange program between Cambodian and Japanese staff to strengthen Experience in knowledge, profession, culture, tradition as well as the close relationbetween the people and the people of both countries.
